“Before we learn Buddhism, most of us have wandering minds which lead us to evil thoughts. As soon as we start cultivating our Buddha nature, we need to work diligently to develop appropriate attitudes and methods within ourselves. Our attitudes are of utmost importance; evil thoughts should be eradicated completely as soon as their ugly face come to mind.
In our daily lives, we cannot get away from all manner of people, places and things. We need to deal with these daily encounters with a steady heart that treats even extraordinary events as if they were commonplace and that loves everyone as equals. Human beings interact with each other through both verbal and body language. In this manner, our words and our attitudes communicate our thoughts. The standard we want to set of ourselves it o be gentile and kind in our words and to always embody a congenial and generous attitude. Of course, we often meet people who speak to use rudely and treat us with little or no respect. Nevertheless, we still need to maintain our own self-dignity and not lower our behavioral standards under any circumstances.
Our goal is not to ask others to change themselves; likewise, our goal is not to inventory their weakness. Its is wrong to take the words other people let slip out unintentionally and use them to build self-justified resentment and hatred inside ourselves. It is also not worthwhile to feel hurt or angry when others speak rudely to us, because they may just have bad habits of communicating and may not really mean any harm whatsoever. There are also people who look cold and uncaring on the surface, and yet have loving hearts buried inside. We need to avoid stereotyping and judging others by their outward appearances.
It is important to be constantly mindful of our own attitudes and behaviors. Among the ever-changing people, places and things in our daily lives, we need to focus on our minds on our own cultivation instead of on ego-based emotions of self-interest, such as resentment, hatred, affection and anger. If we find ourselves feeling resentful, we must eradicate the resentment as quickly as possible. No negligence or laziness can be allowed in this constant process of self-monitoring and correction. This, then, is what is mean by putting an end to existing evil. “

[Her:]
Alabama, Arkansas,
I do love my ma and pa,
Not the way that I do love you.
[Him:]
Holy, Moley, me, oh my,
You’re the apple of my eye,
Girl I’ve never loved one like you.
[Her:]
Man oh man you’re my best friend,
I scream it to the nothingness,
There ain’t nothing that I need.
[Him:]
Well, hot and heavy, pumpkin pie,
Chocolate candy, Jesus Christ,
Ain’t nothing please me more than you.
[Both:]
Ahh Home. Let me come home
Home is wherever I’m with you.
Ahh Home. Let me go ho-oh-ome.
Home is wherever I’m with you.
La, la, la, la, take me home.
Mother, I’m coming home.
[Him:]
I’ll follow you into the park,
Through the jungle through the dark,
Girl I never loved one like you.
[Her:]
Moats and boats and waterfalls,
Alley-ways and pay phone calls,
I’ve been everywhere with you.
[Him:]
We laugh until we think we’ll die,
Barefoot on a summer night
Nothin’ new is sweeter than with you
[Her:]
And in the streets you run afree,
Like it’s only you and me,
Geeze, you’re something to see.

[Both:]
Ahh Home. Let me go home.
Home is wherever I’m with you.
Ahh Home. Let me go ho-oh-ome.
Home is wherever I’m with you.
La, la, la, la, take me home.
Daddy, I’m coming home.
(Talking)
Him: Jade
Her: Alexander
Him: Do you remember that day you fell outta my window?
Her: I sure do, you came jumping out after me.
Him: Well, you fell on the concrete, nearly broke your ass, you were bleeding all over the place and I rushed you out to the hospital, you remember that?
Her: Yes I do.
Him: Well there’s something I never told you about that night.
Her: What didn’t you tell me?
Him: While you were sitting in the backseat smoking a cigarette you thought was gonna be your last, I was falling deep, deeply in love with you, and I never told you til just now.
[Both:]
Ahh Home. Let me go home.
Home is wherever I’m with you.
Ahh Home. Let me go ho-oh-ome.
Home is where I’m alone with you.
[Him:]
Home. Let me come home.
Home is wherever I’m with you.
[Her:]
Ahh home. Yes I am ho-oh-ome.
Home is when I’m alone with you.
[Her:]
Alabama, Arkansas,
I do love my ma and pa…
Moats and boats and waterfalls,
Alley-ways and pay phone calls…
[Both:]
Ahh Home. Let me go home.
Home is wherever I’m with you.
Ahh Home. Let me go ho-oh-ome.
Home is where I’m alone with you…
Only you
I choose among the entire world.
Is it fair of you
letting me be unhappy?
My heart is a pen in your hand.
It is all up to you
to write me happy or sad.
I see only what you reveal
and live as you say.
All my feelings have the color
you desire to paint.
From the beginning to the end,
no one but you.
Please make my future
better than the past.
When you hide I change
to a Godless person,
and when you appear,
I find my faith.
Don’t expect to find
any more in me
than what you give.
Don’t search for
hidden pockets because
I’ve shown you that
all I have is all you gave.”

Yeasayer - “Red Cave”
I went out past the willow and the well
Caught my breath upon the hill
At the edge of the domain
And I went down
And further
And when I got up,
I’m at the red cave
And with that sound
As if I had been put under a spell
She led me to her whirlpool
Warm despite a winter’s day
Mary’s house
In the hollow of the white hazel
Rapid whirlpool
And the church of the red cave
I’m so blessed to have spent the time
With my family and the friends I love
In my short life I have met
So many people I deeply care for
