Leaving Austin tomorrow at 6am NE bound…some stops along the way and arriving by the weekend. 

Highlights of my time in Texas

1.) 78723

2.) BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK

3.) Not having a car (only Jorge, my bike and true love). Specifically coming from 51st to DT on Red River or riding around the east side. 

4.) Smaller hiking trips (Green Belt, Inks Lake State Park, Hamilton Pool, Tejas Park, Enchanted Rock)

5.) NOMAD (Cameron and Corona) 

6.)  Live Bluegrass concerts (whiskey shivers and shakey graves shouut)/6th street, hipster to the dirrrty

7.) Blue Star Grocery, DoJos, Lamar and 6th area, Contigo, Flagship Wholefoods, HEB, Pacos Tacos, Flightpath and Epoch

8.) Having two different jobs, one on SoCo, one up north and getting to really know different parts of the city. 

9.) Living with one of my childhood best friends a decade later and getting to meet some of the most awesome souulz. 

10.) Tex-Mex. Specifically breakfast tacos.

11.) Canvassing up Thanksgiving Dinner

12.) Sleeping in my hammock in my friend’s backyard

13.) Working at the Humane Society

14.) Buying Cowboy boots at a bar for $10 (sale because they “fell off the back of a truck”). (sorry mom). 

15.) Getting to spend time at my great grandfather’s gravestone. 

16.) Zilker/Barton Springs. Duh.

17.) The Weather. of course.

18.) The austin neighborhoods, architecture, people and fauna. Perfect combinations of the old and the new, the natural and created. 

19.) West Texas. 

20.) Man, this list could go on forever….

I love texas.

I put my two week in last week and am looking for a new job ATX. If anyone knows of anything and could lemme know I would be appreciative. If not, I suppose i’ll just buy some tarps and start riding my bike towards the coast.
